Another mostly successful weekend.

Short Story:

Saturday:
The weekend started out pretty well. Against my better judgement I led Joseph around the track during practice. :)
Basically, we were stuck behind a large group of 944s, so we went 70 down the front straight to get some clear track on the infield. After giving Joseph a few pointers, he was way up to speed. We qualified together and Joseph got pole by a tenth.
After a botched split start (we ended up not split at all), Joseph and I were at the back of a gaggle of slower 944 Cup cars.
I eventually passed Joseph and put a few 944s between me and him. I pulled a small gap and ended up winning the race.
When Joseph gets more confident in traffic, he's going to be real tough competition.

Sunday:
Pretty normal qualifying. Jason was running today, in third, as well as Rob Morrison in second and I qualified in pole.
The plan was for a standing start, unfortunately, I was caught napping and fell behind Jason after the start. Ooops.
Jason was sick so he was a little "slow", pun intended. I was stuck behind Jason for 2 laps, but by then Rob was 10 seconds ahead.
After getting around Jason, who was racing very defensively (as he should), I started to close the gap on Rob, using a 944 for drafting. By the end of The race I was 1.6 seconds behind. Then the checker drops.
That will learn me to pay attention to the start.

Oh yeah, and the driver of the vette hooked it into the wall out of turn 9. Ouch.
